To better inform our school parents of absenteeism rates within our schools during the flu season we will be updating the following table each morning until the flu season has passed. In accordance with guidelines set out by Manitoba Education Citizenship and Youth, abnormal absenteeism will be reported if a large number of students are missing compared to normal absenteeism rates experienced in the past. If you have any further questions please feel free to call your school office.

Parent Association News

The WMES Parent Association (PA) welcomes all returning and new families.  All parents or guardians of WMES students are welcome in the PA and there are a variety of ways you can be involved.  Throughout the school year, the primary goals of the PA are to organize community-building activities and raise funds for school infrastructure and learning resources.  In addition, it is our hope that we can act as a communication vehicle between parent, teachers, school administration and the WMES Board.  The PA meets on a monthly basis between September and June.  For information on the PA-Bedson campus contact Lynn Riddell at lriddell@shaw.ca and for the PA-Agassiz campus contact: Carla Ens at carla.ens@gmail.comPlease click any documents below for more information on specific fundraising and spirit events.

PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL

The Parent Advisory Council is a group of seven parents (from both campuses) that get together on a monthly basis (with WMES Central Administration) to discuss issues that affect our organization as a whole. The Advisory Council would like to welcome all parents to check out our Statement of Purpose and list of items that we will be working on this year. WMES is a place where parents are heavily involved in the “educational life” of their children. Any inquiries about the council can be directed to Mr. Lawrence Hamm (Superintendent of Schools/CEO) or by emailing the Advisory Council Chair at: wmespac@wmes.ca
